New York has a problem with its housing market. It is currently under construction and many people are losing their homes. The result is a surplus of housing units and high prices. A solution to this problem would be to develop a strategy that focuses on development of the downtown core and southern neighborhoods of the Big Apple.

An analysis by New York City Regional Planning organizations indicates that New York City's population will continue to grow at a rate higher than the national average. The Fall 2021 Geography of Jobs report released last week, indicates that while the number of jobs has risen at a rapid rate, there isn't enough new housing to keep pace with demand. According to the analysis, New York City actually had the highest urban population growth to employment gap for the entire region, which consists of the lower Hudson Valley, Northern New Jersey, southern Connecticut, Long Island, and upstate New York. Although these are some of the wealthiest cities in the country, the regional planning officials admit that this is a region that will need some pro-active intervention to make sure that it keeps growing at the rate that it should be.

According to the research conducted by New York City regional planning organizations, that cities must plan for a slowdown in the growth of their urban areas. This should come as no surprise to those who have been following the news closely. For quite some time now, it has been clear that there are major issues when it comes to affordable housing in the New York City metropolitan area. Even the media has reported on the rise of unaffordable housing costs, forcing many low-income New York City residents to live outside the city, even if they want to stay and work there.

Urban planners have been calling on the city to take action. Recently, the New York State governor used her state budget to call for an urban re-development strategy that will help revitalize the regional economy. This comes as no surprise to anyone who has been paying attention to the news from New York City. The recent economic meltdown has caused mass layoffs in many industries across the country, including the newspaper industry, the airline industry, and most of the mortgage industry, and cities like New York have been especially hard hit.

Unfortunately, even with the re-growth in New York City, many New Yorkers continues to be stuck in a poverty-level existence, lacking the basic amenities that they are used to having. But while the unemployment rate is the highest in the country, the number of poor urbanites has actually risen over the past few years. There has been a rise in the number of people living in the rural areas, who have been forced to leave their suburban communities in search of work, or even worse, a place to live permanently. But even the urban population is feeling the effects of a weak job market, with more jobs being lost in big cities than ever before. The result is a population of both urban and rural dwellers that are experiencing a serious lack of opportunities for upward mobility, leaving them little hope of escape from the poverty that continues to grip New York City.

In order to address the problem of growing regional population, the New York State Governor has called upon metropolitan area regional planners to create strategies that will help the New York City area adjust to this influx of more people, more quickly and efficiently. New York City is still the world's largest financial and political center, and it is rapidly becoming the most populous city in the entire world. But it is also one of the most difficult places for those who do not have a lot of money to live in comfortably. So far, the response of local government in New York has been lukewarm at best. Even with the re-building of bridges and tunnels that will connect the regions, there has been little incentive provided to builders to build low-income, middle class housing, despite the obvious need for such housing.
